A Broken Promise

I broke my own promise not to break down whenever I have bad encounter with my dad. But this time, he shattered my heart into tiny pieces like he used to. I had a surprise visit to his office in Liwasang Bonifacio this morning because I asked the help of his assistant to help me get my NBI clearance. Upon entering the building, all eyes were set on me, saying, “Who the hell is she?” “What’s she doing here?” and so on. I was lead to his office, and I told myself, “Whew! My dad’s a big shot here. 4 members for his office staff, television set, and two big office tables.” True enough, his title: Operations Director. One thing that really caught my eye was a picture of my dad with his illegitimate child. It was really painful. I can’t even explain the feeling. I didn’t comment anymore as I was left speechless, but not clueless to the fact that he loves his illegitimate child more than his legal one.  The illegitimate child has a picture on his table, while the legal child has none. What a thrilling experience!

Ikaw na magkaroon ng ganyang ama, sigurado akong isusumpa mong hindi na dapat siya ang naging ama mo.

Lucky Emili!

Could I Be A Sports Fortune Teller Someday?

Someone texted me last Friday, “Hey your prediction for the Aussie Open women’s finals was correct, Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic. More correct because your predicted winner was Sharapova.

Then, it was followed up by another text: “Hey you missed one finalist for the men’s, it was not Rafael Nadal but Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who toppled your Rafa into 3 straight sets. Hope your prediction for the men’s would be correct. I want Novak Djokovic to win against Roger Federer.”

I sent my reply and told her, “I think Djokovic would win against Federer in 3 straight sets in a very close match. Then, Djokovic would win his first Grand slam as Australian Open 2008 champion.”

Hehe, true enough, Maria and Novak won.

Next, before C/S Sports’s live coverage of the Hornets and Spurs’s game yesterday. I told myself, “Spurs will not win today. Just a feeling. They’re tired. I will not watch.”

True enough again, they lost in a blow-out 102-78 score by the Hornets which I learned in score box flashed at Fox News.

Just this morning, I glanced at the NBA sked and saw the Boston-Orlando match. I told my cousin, “Orlando would be handing Boston their 8th loss.”

Yes, Orlando did 96-93.

Would I make a lot of money if I continue this? What do you think?

Leaving My First Home

It’s always been painful and tearful everytime you’re about to leave someone or somewhere. Feelings get divided whether you made the right decision of leaving the house or writing a new home address.

The feeling was not same when I left Tondo…. though I knew I should be. But changing office address….quite confusing.

Soon, I’ll be leaving my first work that I’ve grown to love, who gave me all the firsts as a professional—-salary, tax, 13th month, christmas party, etc.

I would be saying thank you to all of my co-workers and Korean students….very soon.

Of course, I will be missing them.

My San Antonio Spurs are slowly crumbling down

Yes, they’re not the San Antonio Spurs that swept the 2007 NBA Finals against Cleveland.

They’re not in their usual defensive team, creating too much turnovers, and acting as if they’re a team fished outside the D-League.

They are slowly slipping away in the standings, and creating rumors that there would be no back-to-backs for them.

What’s happening?
