The third and final misadventure my mom, my boyfriend and I experienced during the opening games of the UAAP Season 71.
My mom decided not to watch the opening ceremonies anymore, because knowing UP, they would try to make their production numbers more fabulous than the performance of UST last year.
We went up to UST’s gallery and guess, it was only the second quarter of the first game between FEU and Adamson, meaning, no seats pa. So no choice, but to seat on the left side of the aisle.
While seating, my boyfriend whispered something like, “Ang asim ng katabi mong lalaki.” I was like, “Shhh…di na nga ako nagre-react eh.” He just smiled. Actually, that student is a UST student.
Then, when one of the cheerleaders of Adamson prepared for the halftime, my mom told me to sit on the right side of the aisle so we would not block the way. So we obliged.
Then, this cute student of Adamson offered my mom the seat and she was thankful for the seat. So to show her appreciation, she cheered for Adamson though she knew they had a slim chance of winning against FEU.
When some of the Adamson students started vacating their seats, Jasper and I were able to seat. He leaned on and asked my mom, “Kaya po kayo lumipat kasi nabahuan kayo dun kay baboy?”
My mom said, “Di na nga ako nagpahalata eh.”
